Decisions, decisions…

I got the bow tie top all put together. It is currently 54″ x 60″. I am trying to decide if I should add borders or not.

This is for someone that is fairly short but I wish it were a bit longer. I thought of adding some of this at the top and bottom.

I also have a few DS prints to choose from.

I will probably wait and ask Daughter #1 since it is her friend the quilt will go to. What do you think is the perfect size for a nap quilt?

  1. I think it looks great without a border, but I have added borders to quilts that I needed to make bigger several times. If you do a border, piano keys would look spectacular!

Thank you so much for sharing this at Needle and Thread Thursday!

It’s probably best to add the border. Find out how tall the recipient is. I think you said it’s for someone getting chemo? Probably would be nice to be covered from toes to right under the chin.

Your quilt looks lovely! I like the piano key idea of Judy’s, or a chevron boarder top and bottom. Scrappy piano keys would be great!

I think it depends on the height of the person. I’m 5’1 so this size would work for my height but I think a bit longer would be nice. It is such a pretty quilt she’ll love it no matter what.

I think 72 inches is a better length for a lap quilt. How about a piano key border on each end? I recently used this trick to make a QOV longer and it worked well.
