SewCalGal is hosting a Year of Red and White Challenges. For more info, click here.
The first part of the challenge is to share a red and white quilt you made prior to 2014. So here is mine. I made this quilt in the spring of 1997. We were homeschooling our kids at the time and I hung it in our school room when we lived in France.

At that time, I used a CAD program called Visio to draft my block patterns. Some of these were paper pieced and some traditionally pieced. It is all done by machine. This represents some of my earliest machine quilting. The crosshatching was done with a walking foot and the Baptist Fan border was done with FMQ on my 1955 Singer 201. I love that machine!

Thats a great red and white quilt!
What a great quilt!
Great quilt! I like the school house block along with the letters, and I suppose the star is for good performance. What is the largest you have quilted on your Featherweight? I haven’t ventured beyond 40 x 60 yet.
Hi Katy…the quilts are beautiful. Just wanted to let you know I got your message regarding the giveaway on my blog. You posted as a no-reply-blogger so I couldn’t let you know I recieved it. Hugs
