Cookie Day!

Yesterday was Tamale Day and today is Cookie Day! It was great fun learning about making tamales but in no way could I do this myself!

I did get a bit of sewing done last night. I finished the baby quilt and got it loaded into the frame for quilting.

I also made a rice bag for my daughter’s stocking.

And since she is hosting the cookie exchange today, I decided to make her a little hostess gift. So I embroidered this flour sack towel.

I also got this top out again. I am thinking some more about where to go from here with it.

Time to get my cookies out of the oven!

    The quilt looks great and so do those cookies!! But oh my goodness, how do you get your cutout cookies to be so thick and puffed up like that? I want one, right now please! Yum :}

  2. I love the offset blocks of the baby quilt. It’s a clever, simple way to add interest, and yours will be terrific. On the 16-patch — how about an oversized sawtooth border, segments changing color as the blocks do, but not in sync with the blocks. Throw in a little irregularity…

    Have a great day!
