Slow Stitching Sunday

The Small Quilt Talk yahoo group decided that our November challenge would be to finish a UFO. I have two small ones that have been bugging me. Remember this one?

In analyzing why I couldn’t bring myself to finish this, I realized that I hate the background. If you will recall, I redid the background once already. Today I came across a fabric that I could be happy with so I took it apart again.

So this afternoon I will hand appliqué this down for the third time!

I have another little hand pieced top that I machine quilted after church today. I will hand stitch the binding today.

I am linking up with Kathy at Kathy Quilts for Slow Stitching Sunday.

  1. It’s amazing how one change can make us feel so differently about a quilt! And then it all of a sudden “clicks” and we’re off and running to the end! It’s magic and I love when that happens! Thanks for linking up and reminding us of that!

Your quilt looks totally different with a change in background fabric. Sometimes it is worth the extra work to get it right.

I just love hexies ; ) Thanks too for commenting on my blog. You came up as no reply so I am going this route

I agree your third choice is better, well done! We should be pleased with what we make, after all. Your little hexies are so cute!

Good choice making the background change again. I love how it makes them all sing with the darker color. Enjoy the hand stitching time today.

Good for you to change the background when you weren’t happy with it! So much better to spend the time doing that than have regrets. Great little mini.:)
