Super Saturday!

At least I hope it is super! And I hope it warms up! This morning I will be walking in our town’s annual Pride Parade representing the library. The forecast shows a high of 30 degrees. Yikes!

I did get a little sewing done. I finished piecing the center of this QOV. I need to decide what to add to make it 12″ longer than it is wide.

I will add a 6″ border after that.

While thrifting with my daughters, I found this fun set of apple pottery dishes.

And last but not least, today I received a prize I won from the Blogger’s Quilt Festival. A set of Aurifil thread!

Isn’t it beautiful? I have never used Aurifil before but I have heard wonderful things about it. I can’t resist one last shot just because it is so pretty!

Have a great day!

Once you use the Aurifil you will want to use it ALL of the time!! It just glllliiddessss through your machine like silk. I received a freebie from Pink Castle Fabric with an order and that is how I fell in love with it. It’s not cheap but then, if your quilt falls apart or your machine jams and your frustrated, it’s well worth a few extra dollars in my opinion. Those colors in that gift box , they are TO DIE for! So bright and beautiful. It comes in 40 wt. and 50 wt. I know for sure. I’m so excited for you!! I can’t wait to see what you use it on and what you think of it. LMK.

May I ask, where do you get that centerpiece Army emblem? I keep wanting to show my Army reserves son-in-law your QOV but I’m sure he’ll say “make me one Mom!” I have had in my head to make him a QOV someday (some day . . . . I’m still kind of new at this quilt thing). He did a tour in Afghanistan and came home safe, thank God, so he certainly is deserving of one.

  3. oooh! Apple dishes! Those are terrific!

Have fun in the parade. Parades ALWAYS make me cry. 🙂
