This is the quilt I made in the days following September 11th, 2001.

In the red stripes, I have quilted 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Our rallying cry since that fateful day has been, “Never, ever forget.”
Today, my heart is heavy. There are those in our government, along with our president, who would have us side with rebels in Syria against the government there. These rebels are linked with Al Quaeda, the very same group that attacked our nation 12 years ago today.
There are many reasons that I feel these strikes are wrong. But today, the very thought of this crushes me.
To align ourselves with Al Quaeda, in any way, is utterly appalling. It is an affront to all those who lost their lives that day. to those in our military that sacrificed everything fighting against these terrorists. It is reason enough to stay out of this conflict.
As a nation, we must never forget.
Mr. President, Senate, Congress, have you forgotten?
