I got a late start leaving Michigan on Thursday so I spent the night in a hotel on the way. I decided to pull a Bonnie Hunter:

I made some progress on my SQT swap blocks while watching a BBC show on my kindle. I got here early on Friday and have been enjoying time with family.

I even got to meets sister’s chickens!

That’s my dad! I also got to take part in my sister’s family tradition of root beer night.

It brings back good memories of my Michigan years to see the lake in the background. Now I live on the flat land which produces corn and soybeans, and appreciate its beauty too. I am a retired elementary school teacher with many credits in Children’s literature. School librarians are the best! And some that I know are also very good quilters! Thanks for posting your pictures.
Looks like a fun time was had by all!! What part of WI?
Looks like a bunch of great fun!
Your family gathering looks WONDERFUL! I loved the amazing scenery when driving through Wisconsin and Minnesota back in the day (before moving to CA). Have a terrific weekend.
Those are some beautiful chickens, never seen a black one. Now ai could really get into root beer night. So that’s how you get so much done, you take your quilting wherever you go, way to go girl!
