Progress

I finished my little quilt top. It ended up about 30″ x 33″. The size was dictated by the fabric I had on hand. My Dutch wax prints from Holland are officially used up! I loaded it up on the frame and then….

I finished the binding tonight while watching a movie. I will show the final after washing pic tomorrow. I also loaded this up:

This top was made by my husband’s grandmother, Effie , I would guess in the late 60s. She had a percale sheet all ready for the backing. My MIL gave this to me a couple years ago. She knew I would finish it one day. It didn’t exactly lay flat. It has a wild variety of scraps, everything from dotted Swiss to feed sacks and drapery weights. I quilted this in a large meander to nudge it into submission. I finished the quilting but will wait to post a pic until the binding is done.
Sure feels good to be back on the sewing room!
