A fun day!

My wonderful hubby bought a new truck this week. So today we both took the day off and took a little road trip to try it out. First stop he surprised me with was a quilt shop! I bought some beautiful fabrics for a very special Quilt of Valor.

This will be for my beautiful daughter, Annie.

She has been in the USAF for nearly two years now as a member of the 56th Security Forces Squadron. It will take a while for this quilt, it has to be my very best.
I also  found this while I was out shopping:

Perfect for a proud Air Force mom!
While we were traveling, I worked on preparing hexagons for hand piecing.

Finished, these measure 3/4″ across. I like to mark the seams and hand piece rather than use papers.

It was such a fun day with my honey! Oh, here is a pic of his fancy new truck:

Until next time…

A ride in hubby ‘s new truck and a quilt shop————sound like a perfect day to me. Tell you daughter “thank you for your service” from us. My hubby retired from the Air Force, it was a good life and I loved it.
