Since I have been working with my Denyse Schmidt prints lately, I was inspired to create another scrappy triangles doll quilt using some DS scraps. I quilted it in my random grid pattern which means no measuring, no marking, no attempt to keep things straight. Here is how it looks after washing.

I also finished piecing the tumbler top.

Here is a shot of a corner so you can see the borders I chose.

This was supposed to be a lap quilt but it has grown into a twin size so again, quilting will have to wait until I get batting.
Until next time….

Oh My !!! That backing is absolutely wonderful…What a great way to use some of my large floral prints on my very little quilts. An inspiration for sure : )
Your scrappy triangle mini turned out so cute — love the yellow binding! Like you, I also use different fabrics on the backs of my little quilts. I didn’t at first – but I have about 8 years worth of fabric to use up before I switched over to my Civil War repro obsession. So why not use all of the other stuff in the closet on the back? My family and friends don’t understand … but I guess they really don’t need to. I made a large (bigger than) queen tumbler for our bed – and I’m waiting for a fabric sale to buy the backing. I’m going to need an insane amount of fabric — like 11 yards.
I love your triangle quilt, it is so pretty! Congrats on being published, I think that was wonderful and I like the quilt you made. I just bought a tumbler template so a quilt from it is in my future. Have a great day. Sandi
I really like your little triangle quilt. And the tumbler quilt is terrific.
Katy, i think your little scrappy triangles quilt is simply adorable, i love the washed crinkly look.. must do that with mine!! It’s been fun seeing everyone’s take on this month’s challenge, especially with the ‘ugly’ fabric selections. I wonder what next month’s challenge will be?? cheers…Marian
