Seriously, I have recently quilted several pieces in what I hoped would be a random grid. I never knew it would be so hard! I don’t think I could get this straight if I wanted to! This is what I mean:

Granted, I used a walking foot to keep the stitches themselves even. I had to force myself to get this much variation. Hmmmmm….. Who knew random could be so hard?
